Missy and I cut out pretty foam hearts and stuck them on our front and side doors
Then yesterday we had her two favorite people over (her cousins Lee and Sissy - that's what they call her) and we made a ton of cupcakes! Devils Food with white cream cheese frosting. I tinted it the palest shade of pink to keep with the theme.
| These are the teeny tiny cakes we made with Missy's baking set she got for Christmas |
| And the big heart shaped liners that I got lucky finding as I was searching for my regular cupcake liners! These things (the liners, not the cakes) are at least 5 years old! |
Here is a cute little page with two explanations of St.Valentine's day and some cute facts thrown into the mix! Don't worry, it's short...I skipped over the encyclopedia-type references.
And this evening we have plans with a ton...and when I say a ton I mean at least a dozen people to go out to this teeny hole in the wall chinese place in the middle of our tiny town for dinner. I called to set up our reservation and they actually offered to open up their buffet for us since we were bringing so many people! They're so sweet. They never have a dinner buffet!
I say we have crazy plans because when the lot of us all get together things are bound to get a little crazy. And plus, who has chinese for Valentine's Day? That never comes to mind for us, but I'm thinking maybe we should make this our little tradition. Stress free and fun!! Maybe even a Kinect party or Sour Apples to Apples game after we eat...hmmm...that could get even crazier!!
I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day!
So glad you were able to get to baking, They look great. Hope Missy's baking set was easy to use! Love ya bunches.
