Photo Shoot: Garden

Pictures of the flowers blooming in my garden.  I have found that I love to garden just as much as I enjoy photography.  Although my favorite flowers that are blooming are the purple ones first listed in this post, my favorite photo is the middle one, and I'm not even sure what it's called.  I think it's some kind of Aster, but I couldn't find a white aster quite like that one.  I hope you've enjoyed them as much as I have!

How Long Will I Make You Wait...

Too long!

My MIL came to visit about a week or so ago and we had a blast!  Missy was glued to her hip so I was able to flit about the house or the store or the yard without having to worry too much about being her entertainment.  Plus I have a pretty darn good MIL so it was nice to just have some adult company of my own for a change on a daily basis!

And then she left and now my house is back to being how it was and slightly more lonely.

We took Missy back to the ENT and she is overdue for tubes.  She qualified like 4 months ago but I'm really having a hard time coming to terms with it.

I took her off of all of the medications they told me to give her in order to help "dry-up" the eustachian tubes since they are obviously not helping.

I'll give her til the end of the summer or two more infections and then she will go under and have them placed.  I am praying so hard that a miracle will take place and she won't get any more ear infections ever again.

We go back to see her specialist again next week and go over the results of an allergy test I had them do on her (5 vials of blood they drew! Poor baby.).  It might give us an idea of whether or not something is triggering them, but with all of the allergy meds she's been on I'm not sure it's going to make a difference in this matter.  Also the test will change as she grows, so what might show up now may not be an issue later, or vice versa.

Apparently the risks of allowing the infections to go are much worse than having tubes put in her ears.  The constant infection apparently causes its own scarring which can damage the ear and cause hearing loss.  And the over exposure to antibiotics can lead to allergies to those very drugs in the future.  We all know about building a tolerance to a drug, but I never knew you could become allergic to it!

Those risks are enough to justify tubes, no matter how scared I might be to let it happen.  And I can't even imagine how she's going to handle it.

Wish us luck!
